Our staff provides assistance to employers in the areas of job accommodations, disability education for supervisors and co-workers, benefits of hiring workers with disabilities and the types of instructional methods appropriate for an employee with a disability.
We help area businesses hire individuals with disabilities and/or retain valued employees who, due to a change in health status, may have become disabled. Our staff may work with the employer to restructure job tasks or arrange alternative methods of performing core job duties to facilitate the employee’s success. We also provide a source of temporary labor for jobs that require light assembly or fulfillment.
Services available to area businesses include:
- Employment Referral provides a source of qualified applicants with disabilities to companies interested in actively recruiting a diverse work force. Post employment follow up is provided to support a successful job match.
- Technology Consultations provide employers assistance with workstation and/or computer related modifications for existing employees or to accommodate new employees.
- Employment Re-Integration Services assists employers and employees with disabilities in the development of return to work strategies, relating the essential functions of the job to the employee’s known skills and restrictions, and providing support services to the human resource team, manager and the employee.
- R.I. Industries, Industrial Subcontract Services proved a source of labor for packaging, mailing, assembly and related needs at a competitive rate. The work may be done at our subcontract workshop sites or at the company site.
