The Rehabilitation Institute of Kansas City (RIKC) exists to help those we serve achieve greater independence at home, school or work, and in the community. A comprehensive team of professionals provides the support, encouragement, knowledge, and skills needed to help individuals succeed in their rehabilitation process.
Since 1947, we have maintained our status as the premiere medical and vocational rehabilitation facility in the Greater Kansas City region.
Our mission is to build brighter futures for children and adults with disabilities.
Our vision is to deliver superior, innovative programs and services to the individuals we serve and their families, which empowers them to take charge of their lives.
We are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF is an independent, non-profit accrediting body promoting quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing lives of persons served.
CARF accreditation is awarded to organizations showing substantial fulfillment of the standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a three-year CARF accreditation has been through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable and accountable.
We take pride in being the first rehabilitation facility in Missouri to achieve CARF accreditation in 1971 and have maintained accreditation since then. We are pleased to offer the following CARF Accredited programs:
Through participation in an extensive Medicare survey, complete with an onsite visit and evaluation by government officials, we became certified as a Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility (CORF).
We are pleased to be a member agency (#675) of United Way of Greater Kansas City.

Additionally, Industrial Subcontracting Services receives support by the following funding partners:
